Some ideas are too important to get lost in jargon. At Motion By Design, we create animated explainer videos that turn complex products, processes and services into stories people actually want to watch — and remember.
We’ve worked with organisations across Australia, from healthcare providers and government agencies to technology companies and training and safety teams. Whatever your industry, if there’s something your audience needs to understand, we can help you say it clearly.
Your product solves a real problem — but if people can't quickly see how, you'll lose them. Product explainers show the value in action: what it does, how it works, and why it matters. Clear, concise, and built to convert.
Complex policy, technical programs, and public-facing communication all demand clarity under pressure. We partner with government and defence organisations to produce explainer videos that earn trust, meet accessibility standards, and communicate clearly with diverse audiences.
In healthcare, clear communication can genuinely change outcomes. We create explainer videos for health providers, medical device companies, and patient education programs — translating clinical language into something patients, carers, and the broader community can understand and act on.
Change is hard to sell. People resist what they don't understand — and support what feels human. We create explainer videos that help organisations communicate change clearly: why it's happening, what it means, and what's in it for the people living through it.
New apps and platforms live or die on adoption. We create explainer videos for technology products that show the value fast — turning "I don't get it" into "I need this". From feature walkthroughs to full product launches, we help digital products find their audience.
Public sector communication needs to reach everyone — across different literacy levels, languages, and levels of trust. We work with government and public sector teams to create explainer videos that are clear, accessible, and genuinely useful for the communities they serve.

Most explainer videos take between 4 and 8 weeks from kick-off to final delivery. This includes scripting, storyboarding, animation, voiceover, sound design, and revisions. Timelines can be adjusted for urgent projects — just let us know your deadline and we’ll advise on what’s achievable.
The cost of an explainer video depends on its length, style, complexity, and how much of the process we handle. A short animated explainer typically starts from a few thousand dollars, with more detailed or character-driven productions requiring a higher investment. We provide a detailed quote after an initial consultation so you know exactly what’s involved before committing.
We handle the script as part of our process. Our team will work with you to understand your product, audience, and key messages, then craft a script that communicates your value clearly and concisely. You’ll have the opportunity to review and provide feedback before we proceed to animation.
The sweet spot for most explainer videos is 60 to 90 seconds. This is long enough to clearly explain your value proposition and short enough to hold attention. For more complex topics — such as technical processes or multi-step services — 2 to 3 minutes can work well. We’ll advise on the right length based on your content and where the video will be used.
We deliver your final video in the formats best suited for your intended use — typically MP4 for web and social, with options for broadcast-quality exports if needed. We can also provide versions optimised for specific platforms such as LinkedIn, YouTube, or your website. Source files are available on request.
